米最高裁判所は今年5月、8年間続いた反独占事件について下級審での審理を認めた。原告は,アップル社が,iOS機器のユーザーに対してのみ,そのアプリケーション・ストアを利用できるようにしたことで,独占的な立場になったと主張している。アップルはこのように,アプリケーションの販売から30%の抽出を強制することで,アプリケーションの価格を人為的につり上げることができる。アップルは,iOSユーザーがサードパーティのアプリケーションストアにアクセスすることを許可したり,アプリケーションを開発者から直接購入できるようにすべきだと訴えた。
